Wondering

OK so here is a thought for reflection. Feel free to wade into the water of thought. What does it mean to "speak where the bible speaks and be silent where it is silent?" Does this mean the same for thing for everyone? Do we define the phrase in a way which keeps us comfortable? Is there anything wrong with that?

Since you asked . . . that phrase has seemingly meant different things to different people. I would prefer if it meant, we speak up when we can share the message God has given us to share (on any given topic) and we keep our opinions (and especially our judgments) to ourselves on those things where God is silent.

I guess I can agree with Byron ... if scripture doesn't say something specifically about something (or situations which may strongly correlate as metaphor), keep your nose out of it.

For some reason: "All things are permissible, but not all things are beneficial." comes to mind. It may be personally disastrous for *you* to have a cluttered desk, but another person may thrive having disordered piles of papers and things if they understand their own system.
